PAYMENT & SHIPPING

What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept PayPal and personal checks. If you are paying by check your purchase will be shipped once the check has been received and cleared. This process could take up to a week for out of state (MA) checks. I can also accept Visa, Mastercard & Discover but will need your information to be sent to me by email.

How & when will my purchase be shipped?
Most items in my shop are made to order so your piece will be handmade just for you. The wait time is usually 2-4 business days before your items are shipped. This time frame may change depending on the season and the number of orders before yours. If you need your item quickly please email me and I'll do my best to get it out to you as soon as possible. Domestic Packages are sent USPS First Class w/ Delivery Confirmation. Canadian & International will be sent First Class Intl. You should expect an email from Stamps.com with your shipping info as soon as your package has been sent.

MATERIALS

What metals are used in your jewelry?
Generally I only work in sterling silver, argentium sterling and 14K gold. Some items may have vintage components of brass or copper and this will be noted in the items description. All earwires are sterling. If you have metal allergies and have a question about a specific item please ask!

Where do you get your supplies from?
I realize that the jewelry business is far from eco-friendly so I've done my research and found companies that I can feel good about buying from. My metal supplier has provided socially and environmentally-responsible products and services for over 95 years. All of their metals are recycled from the earth's existing metal supply and is not bought from miners.

Occasionally I use vintage beads and/or gemstones in some designs. The vintage is easy - it's another form of recycling! For my new materials, such as gemstones, I avoid buying from countries whose beads are mainly produced under sweatshop conditions and pay workers below minimum wage. Because of this my materials are a bit more expensive but the superior quality is obvious when stones are manufactured by skilled artisans (you can see the difference in the evenly cut facets and smoothly drilled holes).

Packaging can be taxing on the environment as well, I use only 100% recycled boxes for my jewelry.
I'm also happy to have recently switched all of my printing needs (postcards, business cards, etc) to a smaller company with soy-based inks, recycled papers, 100% wind-powered facilities and carbon-free shipping!

CUSTOM ORDERING

Do you do custom orders?
I work with each custom request on a case by case basis. If I'm unable to create what you need I'll point you in the direction of another recommended artist.

Do you make wedding items?
I have done custom work for brides and full bridal parties.

Can you alter an item already listed in your store?
If you'd like to purchase a piece but the length is not quite right I can usually adjust it. There may be an additional charge for altering certain items.

WISHLISTS

How does your wishlist option work?
Wishlists are a great way to keep track of your favorite items here at My Sunset Road! Click on the 'wishlists' link (under the lovely trees at the top of the page) and then click on 'New Customers' to register. Once you register and browse the various categories, add items to your wishlist by clicking on the 'add to wishlist' button located to the right of each item picture. Now your favorite items are remembered for future purchasing or to drop a hint for a gift by emailing it to friends and family ;)

CARE

How do I care for my jewelry?
Handcrafted gemstone jewelry may be delicate and should be handled with care. Gemstone jewelry should not be worn when in contact with chemicals or cleaners and all jewelry should be put on after make-up and hair products. I recommend storing bright sterling pieces in small plastic bags to slow oxidation of silver. Use polishing cloth and soft damp cloth when necessary.

RETURN POLICY

Do you accept returns?
I want you to be thrilled with your jewelry from My Sunset Road. If you aren't completely satisfied I'd be happy to exchange your item for another one within 2 weeks of your original purchase. Product must be returned in the condition you received it in. Shipping charges will still apply.
